This project included the construction of a large auditorium of approximately 2,200 seats with potential future expansion to about 6,000. The structure itself is a steel skeleton with long spanning joist girders with an exterior which includes stucco finishes over insulated concrete form walls. This project utilized scaffolding of every possible variety from aerial lifts, to frame scaffold along the entire outside of the building and even a “dance floor” elevating workers approximately 40’ above the auditorium floor on a large semi-circular scaffold. While the main purpose of the building was to house the worship center for the church, the building also houses a field house for the school attached to the church as well as large open common areas and themed classrooms for Sunday school for the children. Optimum’s role included site inspection services on a weekly basis, attendance of the project meetings weekly acting as a member of the project management team, consulting services to the owner and their construction management team as well as site orientation for each of the trades working on the site. The project was brought to a successful completion with only one minor injury.
